Reflective statement for blog

This below  is my statement what I felt in this unit and what I have hearn and could implove for next step.

As this is my first term of textile, I learned so many things in this unit. The most important thing I have learnt in rough guide project is how to develop my ideas visually. I was slightly confused how I develop my ideas visually at the beginning of the project. Because I was in theatre class in foundation, I always started research from text or narratives. However, in textile, we often start research from visual images. I took a little time to understand this. Now, I understand and enjoy very much with visual research, even feel confidence to start research from visual objects. In my final work of rough guide project, I mixed visual images and storytelling research about the town, Mayfair. I think it was good excise to mix my foundation experiments which are strongly connected with concept based research and the research way which I have learned in this unit, visual research.
I always try to keep my blog up to date. I think, I have done it well, although there are still some parts to be improved. Because, I did not say my opinions so much in the blog. I think posting my daily artist journals is completely good exercise for many aspects of my study, for example recording my works, what I have done in college, and visit to museums. What I have learnt from posting blog most is that I have to have a responsibility what I write in. Blog is slightly different from paper journals, because everyone can see and read my articles from all over the world. At the beginning, I felt hesitant about posting topics on my blog, but later I noticed that this understanding is essential to me as a learner.

Object analysis 200words statement

I have chosen Art Nouveau movement as my object of essay.
Here is 200words essay proposal below.

Last Christmas, I visited  Paris and saw many aesthetic Art Nouveau furniture and paintings at Les Arts Decoratifs and Musée d'Orsay. Although I knew the word ‘Art Nouveau’ before visit to those two museums, that was my first encounter with Art Nouveau works. There were a lot of reproduced rooms which were perfectly decorated with Art Nouveau furniture in the museums. I am inspired by those aesthetic looking and fadeless designs which even now look like ‘Art Nouveau’ (New Art).
Art Nouveau is said to have begun in late 19th century. Because of an appearance of many art movements at the same time, there were similar movements taking off around the world. It seems that each movement had a direct impact on the relationship between each other, like Tiffany’s Japanese-inspired glassware. As well as being accredited as genuinely international movement at the period, it is seen today as an important bridge between Neoclassicism and modernism. UNESCO also has recognized Art Nouveau as significant contributions to cultural heritage.
I would like to look at Art Nouveau not only in architecture, but also applied art, decorative art including jewelry, furniture, lighting and the range of visual arts, and explore what influence it has on fashion and textiles. Here are some of the artists I want to explore;Victor Horta, Alphonse Mucha, Hector Guimard.

Technical block4 Print

I'm just done designing scarf with Photoshop for digital printing which will be taken place on Monday. I have been learning Photoshop all this week, because this is my first time to work with photoshop. At the beggining, I was desparately hated it, but gradually as I get used to it, I realized that how wonderful things I could work with it. I can't image. Why I did't start learning it more earlier?? It makes my works much much one hundred times quicker than as usual. I have not got photoshop at home yet. I definitely should buy one. It is quite expencive, but I can afford it!!! I can not wait to print my scarf on Monday.

RA fashion and Identity

On this friday, we went to the exhibition ' Fashion and Identity' at Royal Acedemy of Arts after Lecture.
It was really interesting exhibition. That was more conceptual art rather than fashion. I quite liked the concept of these works which have strong messages and well represented concepts. Some of those works in themselves were not great if I saw them from fashion eyes.

-Theory program task-
・What does the exhibition teach us about people's motivations for consuming fashion?
well, this is a bit diffucult question, because I could not find any related works from the exhibition, to be honest.

・Pick one piece and reflect on that it says about the production, consumption or marketing of fashion?
I'm going to choose the one which was made by Kimsooja. This video examines the globalisation of fashion using simple way, video recording, but well represents the concept and gives us strong impact of where what we wear are comming from. It lets us realize that how those high street fashion are made, and who are  making.
